CATHOLIC CARITAS FOUNDATION OF NIGERIA MOVES TO NEW OFFICE

ABUJA, NIGERIA - The social services organ and Non Governmental organization (NGO) of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) has moved to its new headquarters in Abuja.
 
 
The movement was due to the continuous growth and expansion both in the number of staff and projects of the organization. The new office is located at No 16B Oba Akenzua Street off Yakubu Gowon Crescent, off Ukpabi Asika Street, Asokoro, Abuja.
 
 
Since its inauguration in 2010, by the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), the Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria, (CCFN) has been sharing office accommodation with Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN) at plot 459 Cadastral Zone B2 Durumi 1, Garki Abuja.
 
 
The new head office will be officially opened in September, 2012 and the ceremony is expected to be attended by the CCFN Board Chairman, Most Rev. Lucius Ugorji and other members of the board, other stakeholders and well-wishers, and the staff of CCFN and the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN). According to the Executive Secretary of CCFN, Rev. Fr. Evaristus Bassey, the occasion will also provide an opportunity to celebrate `in thanksgiving to God for his blessings, guidance and protection towards to the Agency.`
 
 
Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria, (CCFN) is a specialized development agency responsible for capacity building and overall coordination of development programmes for the Catholic Church in line with its Mission Statement `to advance the wellbeing of all through participatory intervention measures in line with Catholic Social teaching.` CCFN works with local, national and international Catholic institutions and structures, as well as other organizations, to assist people on the basis of rights and needs irrespective of creed, race or nationality. It has a mandate to fight against hunger, disease, and ignorance as well as render humanitarian intervention in various parts of the country.
